NoNameDisciple was one of the standout performances on the BBC Music Introducing stage at last year’s Reading Festival for Radio 1 and BBC Music Introducing DJ Abbie McCarthy. Lily Allen is a big fan of the MC from Berkshire and NoName refers to the fact she doesn’t want performances to be about her, she’s using her music to help evoke change in others and Disciple because she’s training to be a pastor alongside making music. She uses her lyrics to talk about her past struggles and to get her audience discussing mental health more freely.
This will be her AY? Debut and we are looking forward to it.

20:30 - RHYMESTAR featuring Max Profit and DJ J Rich
Following a landmark year in Rhymestar’s illustrious career as an MC, 2018 sees the unveiling of his own live show. With a performance debuting for none other than taste-makers BBC Introducing, the excitement around the launch of Rhymestar’s solo career as an artist in his own right is gathering increasing impetus.
2017 saw the release of four independent singles, all of which received airplay and on-going backing from BBC Introducing. ‘Take Control’, Rhymestar’s second single, was chosen and play listed as the BBC Introducing ‘Track of The Week’ on 1xtra, also receiving plays on Radio 1.
Merging sounds and influences from Jungle, Drum & Bass and Grime, Rhymestar’s unique style seems to be taking flight, gaining the attention of fans of the genres across the UK, Europe and as far as North America & Australia.
One of the most dynamic artists to successfully cement his name into the Drum & Bass scene, having performed at club nights and festivals in over 35 countries worldwide, including the world-famous Glastonbury Festival, Reading & Leeds Festival, Creamfields and EDC, he is not prepared to take his foot off the gas. Rhymestar’s aspirations to innovate within his field have seen him apply his vocal talents to not only DnB but Grime and Hip-Hop too. Often identified by an unstoppable flow replete with deep and meaningful lyrics, this recognisable talent is firing on all cylinders. As well as being the preferred MC for household DnB acts; Matrix & Futurebound, Tantrum Desire and Culture Shock, Rhymestar is also a permanent fixture at the Viper Recordings tour nights across the UK and further afield.
Having featured on Danny Byrd’s last album ‘Golden Ticket’ on tracks such as ‘BANG!’ and ‘Sublow Junkie’ (Hospital Records), he also made his debut release on Viper Recordings in 2015 releasing ‘Cardiac Arrest’ with Smooth. 2016 saw Rhymestar achieve his first ‘Beatport’ and ‘Track It Down’ number 1 ‘Anarchist’, collaborating with Tantrum Desire on Technique Recordings.

Following the release of the Hope Sick EP in 2009, Tiger Mendoza has released a number of EPs and albums as well as producing remixes for artists and bands including Public Enemy, DJ Shadow (who he also supported), and Little Red. Live shows are a shapeshifting beast, based around massive breaks, bass and, more than anything else energy.
His most recent releases, Old Ideas 1 and 2, released in 2017 and 2018 respectively were a attempt at trying to deal with personal and national events over the last the 2 years and involved collaborations with a number of friends old and new from the Oxford Music scene including Kid Kin, Luke from Daisy, Asher Dust and a track with rapper / poet Pierquin which earned a spot in Nightshift's tracks of the year 2017.
You could sum up Tiger Mendoza as an accident – but a happy accident. The music is an attempt to create great songs with beats, guitars and whatever other sounds and nonsense happen to wander past at the time.
