The Papers are a 4-piece band from Reading via Africa.

Two sets of two brothers who grew up together around the Cemetery Junction area of Reading, The Papers fuse elements of hip hop, funk, soul, blues, jazz and rock with intelligent lyricism to create a sound both contemporary and nostalgic.

A shared experience of the immigration process, their surroundings growing up and life in the UK are among the influences that resonate in their music. The  Papers’ live shows are characterised by their tightness, passion and natural rapport between members – the result of a bond that precedes making music.
