16:00 - ROCK@SAKURA DJs
The Rock @ Sakura DJs run Reading's longest running weekly night (20 years this year!!) and play rock/ alt/ punk/ metal and bring their fine tune collection to the Face Bar.
17:00 - Monroe
Monroe have been around for about a year or so after the bassist and guitarist's last band Nicotine. We play a pretty fuzzed out kind of psychedelic metal and release lo-fi recordings.
18:00 - The Ultimate End
The Ultimate End was spawned from Reading’s Bohemian open mic scene, spearheaded by former solo singer/songwriters James and Maija, and propelled by the rhythm section of erstwhile local heroes Desdemona. The Ultimate End established themselves as a must-see act throughout 2013, culminating with a suitably epic headline show at the Club Velocity Christmas Special. They combine the dark electronic textures of Japan and Visitors-era ABBA with the biting pop melodies and flamboyance of Pulp and Suede. They are the disco-biscuit-munching art-punk Arcadia to The Jettes’ Power Station.
“Becoming a bit of a Club Velocity institution. Their debut show in January 2013 was fabulous. Bouncy, keyboard-led disco pop punk with a truly great front man. Jarvis Cocker is sticking to broadcasting. Do not miss them.” – Sid Siddle (Club Velocity)

20:00 - Launch Control
Influenced by bands such as MXPX, Rise Against and Lagwagon, we write fast, catchy, powerful Punk Rock songs that you can sing along to and that hopefully have the substance to make you want to listen again and again. We love catchy choruses, but we don’t want to write throwaway pop songs. We have spent the last year playing a few low key gigs and working on our debut EP Cardiac Arrest. Cardiac Arrest is a 6 song EP that we are incredibly proud of. The EP was recorded and produced at Whitehouse Studios and comes with an 8 page booklet of lyrics and specially commissioned artwork. We love it, and we hope that you will too. We are releasing Cardiac Arrest ourselves on our own label, Snake in the grass records. As well as physical copies, the songs will be available for download from all major MP3 retailers including iTunes and to stream on Spotify and Deezer. To promote our EP we will be booking live shows across the UK. We put everything we have into making our live shows energetic and inclusive. We use LCD screens and loop pedals on stage to play videos and samples that relate to the songs and that work to create a fresh and engaging gig experience
