The August List are an Oxford based alt. folk band whose songs concern the frailty of human existence and the awesomeness of nature. They deliver them sonically with drones, scuzzed-up acoustic guitars, vocal interplay and intense atmosphere.

Their second album, ‘Ramshackle Tabernacle’, came out in 2017 and revealed a preoccupation with hermits and the ‘disappeared’ from both fiction and the real world. The album gained praise and was called “an absolute feast of musical wonder” by Nightshift Magazine, who went onto name the song ‘Wilderness’ as their track
of the year. They are now working on their third album.

They have played gigs and festivals up and down the country including Festival No.6, Wilderness, Cornbury, Ritual Union, Down at the Abbey and have supported artists such as Jesca Hoop, The Lovely Eggs, Trembling Bells, Nadia Reid and Karl Blau.

"…full of grit and soul, fire and fog."
