Reading born but now South London based artist Matt Maltese returns to Are You Listening? Festival off the back of two acclaimed albums, 2019's Krystal (**** NME, **** Dork, 8/10 The Line of Best Fit) and 2018's debut Bad Contestant which received rave reviews from DIY (“one of the most exciting emerging British songwriters in years”), CLASH (“Rarely has gloom sounded so glamorous...”), Q (“gratifyingly droll dispatches from the frontline of hopeless romanticism”), Dork (“a hyper aware parade of seemingly offhand, cutting wordplay matched to super smart instrumentation”) and Noisey labelled him a new Jarvis Cocker, “if he’d spent more time at The Windmill pub in Brixton and was in a better mood" amongst others.

A musical talent open to singing about a range of topics from love to the end of the world; Matt's songs are always interesting, heartfelt and engaging.
