Baba Ali started out in the experimental funk duo Voices Of Black before releasing his first solo project in 2017, the Nomad EP. The EP's rhythmically hypnotic and bluesy second track "Cog in the Wheel" quickly became a hit in the underground dance scene. After moving from New York to London, Baba Ali followed up his debut with the electrified foot-stomper "I've Been Voodoo'd". On stage, Baba Ali's magnetic showmanship has gained admiration from critics, fans and fellow artists alike.
Baba Ali makes his debut on artist/ producer Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records with the release of his genre-bending new EP This House.
‘Shame Blues’ is the first song Baba Ali wrote for the EP and his playful mediation on the concept of shame; it is the follow up to his breakout track ‘House’ which saw him A-listed on BBC 6Music and added to a slew of summer festivals.
