Our Girl have been wowing a growing army of listeners ever since their debut gig supporting Honeyblood in September 2014. It was during that fledging performance that singer/guitarist Soph Nathan (The Big Moon) realized that, of the five bands she was then playing in, Our Girl was the perfect home for her redoubtable songwriting.
The product of a thriving Brighton scene that includes The Magic Gang, Dream Wife and Abattoir Blues, the band are capable of switching from stark tenderness to pulverising noise in a flash. Nathan's honest, personal lyrics float in a delicious array of sounds: rhythmic drum and guitar hooks make dynamic jumps to thick garage-rock riffs, then suddenly cut to beautiful, intimate moments of lone guitar and reverb-hugged vocals.
The trio has performed with the likes of Sunflower Bean, TRAAMS, The Wytches, and The Magic Gang, and released their acclaimed self-titled debut Stranger Today this Summer.
